Very special thanks for the first two photos of Acropora rongelapensis to Dr. Paul Muir, Acting Curator for corals at the Museum of Tropical Queensland (MTQ).

Dr. Muir hat taken the photos at Rongelap, Marshall Islands.

Growth form: indeterminate plate or arborescent
Branches: lenght 5 to 10 cm, diameter 5 - 9,9mm

IUCN:
This species was collected subtidally from a deep lagoon habitat between 28 and 30 m depth (Richards and Wallace 2004). It can be found on protected deep sandy slopes (Richards pers. comm.). It can be found as shallow as 20 m and as deep as 40 m.
