Info

The large-scaled Scorpionfish lives at the off-site of coral reefs in depths between 1 and 60 Meters. East Atlantiv and Mediterranean. Solitary waiting on rocks for food. Like all Scorpionfishes they are sniping hunters. They feed on fishes, crustacean including hermit crabs and shrimps and smaller squids. The swim bladder is degenerated. Therefore they are preserving swimmers. Not difficult to cultivate but the feeding of frozen instead of living food may be a problem. CAUTION: Toxic. Like all other Scorpionfishes they have poison glands at the base of the dorsal fins.
