Phyllodesmium poindimiei is widely distributed in the Indo-Pacific. The elongate and slender body is translucent.Cerata are cylindrical, smooth and curved at the tips. On the cerata and rhinophores are blue iridescence.Rhinophores are long and smooth. They are equal in length to the cephalic tentacles.
Phyllodesmium poindimiei feeds on the invasive octocoral Carijoa riiseion(Snowflake coral).
The swimming crab Thalamita integra hunts and feeds Phyllodesmium poindimiei.
