The star snail has a white base color with a pattern on the dorsum of purple pigments and irregular yellow spots. The mantle edge is purple. The purple rhinophores have small white dots. The branched gills are white with a purple outer edge. The colorful star snail can be found at depths of 15-30m from sandy areas that have accumulated between broken corals.
The star snail is a previously undescribed species and is listed by Gosliner, Valdes and Behrens in the book Nudibranch & Sea Slug on page 265 as Hypselodoris sp.23.
