Plocamopherus lucayensis Hamann & Farmer, 1988
Plocamopherus lucayensis is known from the tropical northwestern Atlantic.The body is translucent reddish brown and scattered all over the body with white papillae.The papillae varying in size. Usually the most papillae have a basal ring of dark brown to purple.
This species feeds probably on moss animals.
Plocamopherus species is known that they have a globular bioluminescent organ and that they can swim. Plocamopherus lucayensis was never seen flashing.
