Distribution:
Western Atlantic: southern Florida, USA and the Caribbean Sea to northern Brazil.
More abundant at continental locations.

Biology:
Adults occur in steep outer slopes and deeper patch reefs.
Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding.
Eggs are demersal and adhere to the substrate. Males guard and aerate the eggs.
