This species has been described from the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica.
This small slug is light brown with yellow rhinophores and cerata. The cerata bear dark spots, except for the terminal tuberosity on each ceras, which has a concentration of internal white glands. The maximum body length is 14 mm.
Doto cabecar feeds as a food specialist on hydrozoans, especially Thyroscyphus marginatus (family Sertulariidae).
