Info

Adults of Pomacentrus wardi are found singly or in small groups in lagoons and on the outer reef slopes of coral and rocky reefs.

The coloration of the perch is very variable, it is a rather inconspicuous coloration, usually bluish or brown, without any particular other characteristics.

The perch is site-faithful and feeds primarily herbivorously.

Pomacentrus wardi lives either alone or in small groups.

Similar species:
- Stegastes fasciolatus (Ogilby, 1889), but lacks the yellow outer eye.
- Pomacentrus brachialis Cuvier, 1830, this damselfish has a distinct black spot on the pectoral fin base and a gold rimmed eye
