Phyllidiopsis gemmata (Pruvot-Fol, 1957)

This species was described from Java, Indonesia.

The dorsum is grey-pinkish, with compound tubercles with white apices. There are four longitudinal black lines and radiating black lines at the edge of the mantle.Rhinophores are black, have a pale pink-grey bases.

Similar is Phyllidiopsis krempfi, but that species has a pattern of black lines on the back.Also similar species are Phyllidiella striata, Phyllidiopsis sphingis and Phyllidiopsis annae.

Phyllidiopsis gemmata feeds exclusively on sponges.
