Tylodina fungina Gabb, 1865

Tylodina fungina have a limpet-like shell which is composed primarily of protein, not calcium carbonate.

Species belonging to the Family Tylodina are dietary specialists. Tylodina fungina feed exclusively on the yellow sulfur sponge Aplysina fistularis, Aiolochroia thiona and Aplysina gerardogreeni.

Similar to Tylodina spongotheras and to limpet snails.
