Captive breeding / propagation

The offspring of Lithodes maja are possible. Unfortunately, the number of offspring is not large enough to cover the demand of the trade. If you are interested in Lithodes maja, please ask your dealer for offspring. If you already own Lithodes maja, try breeding yourself. This will help to improve the availability of offspring in the trade and to conserve natural stocks.

Info

Die 14 cm sind die Panzerbreie (ohne Beine), Beinspannweite ca. 30 cm. 4m bis 800m Tiefe. Was nicht weglaufen kann, ist Beute, wobei sich die Steinkrabben selber nur sehr langsam bewegen. Oft gut mit Algen getarnt, sind sie nur schwer auf dem Untergrund auszumachen.

Sie sind eigentlich nur für große Schauaquarien mit Kühlung haltbar.
