Cassis tuberosa belongs to the family Cassidae, the Helmet snails. Cassidae snails are in warm waters worldwide.
This photo of was taken in Caribbean sea. Cassis tuberosa feeds on sea urchins, that are actively hunted by the King Helmet. Despite its toxic sharp spines, even the black sea urchin is attacked and eaten by the Helmet Shell Cassis tuberosa.
