Melithaea ochracea (Milne-Edwards, 1857)

Members of the genus are commonly known as fan corals and are found in the tropical Indo-Pacific region.

After examining numerous colonies from Africa, the Indian Ocean, the Red Sea and the Indo-Pacific, Reijnen et al. (2014) came to the conclusion that this species is restricted to the Moluccas in Indonesia.
