Color: Generally red, in its various tonalities and shades. Pale pink coloration is also found.

Location found (including the present day areas which are no longer exploited):
Italy (Calabria, Campania, Lazio, Toscana, Liguria, Siclia, Sardegna), France, Spain, Morocco, and also Algeria and Tunisia, whose coral, of slightly greater dimensions, was commonly called "barberia".

Hallo

Leider kann man auf dem Bild nicht erkennen ob es eine stehende oder hängende Hornkoralle handelt. Ein nicht unwesentlicher Faktor. Corallium rubrum ist eine hängende Koralle, die eigentlich auch von einem Taucher in der Tiefe wo die Gorgonie lebt, nicht mehr erreicht wird. Auch würde ich sagen das Polypenbild passt nicht zu einer Corallium rubrum. Eine Diodogorgia nodulifera ist völlig auszuschließen, denn die kommt im Mittelmeer nicht vor.

Ich lege mich auf Paramuricea clavata fest.

Da hast Du recht, Walzi. Gehört zu den Hornkorallen und ist wahrscheinlich in die falsche Kategorie gerutscht.
Ich bessere das mal aus.

Hmm, ich denke ja eher das es eine Hornkoralle(Gorgonie)ist: D. nodulifera
Wächst bei mir sehr gut wie man unter D. nodulifera sehen kann.
