Anapagurus laevis (Bell, 1845)

Anapagurus laevis is a small European hermit crab that grows to less than 1cm in size.

Eyes: Cornea apple green, tinted reddish-orange; Eye stalks orange-white, with a yellow-orange ring near the proximal side
region and another reddish orange distally.

Antennae: Translucent bluish-purple-violet with hyacinth-red spots forming 2-3 dorsal rings in the distal segments. Flagellum with brownish-red rings alternating with snow-white ones.

Scissors: Right scissors with a reddish-orange base color and isolated orange spots on the merus and carpus; Dorsal surface of the hand with a prominent Y-shaped reddish-orange spot covering the medial surface. surface of the palm, inner part of the solid finger and proximal part of the dactylus; whitish scissors. Left scissors similar to right, but palm almost white, without central Y-shaped spot.

Anapagurus laevis is host to the parasite Peltogasterella sulcata (Lilljeborg, 1859).
