Info

Epitonium jukesianum (Forbes, 1852)

Wentletraps are small shells. The name comes from the vertical ridges on the shell, resembling a spiral staircase. Epitonium clathrus is a predator snail, preying on anemones and live in sandy and muddy sea bottom.

Epitonium jukesianum is a small parasitic sea snail. It parasitizes on sea anemones and can reattach itself if knocked by its host. Although Epitonium jukesianum is also found in high turbidity environments, it is more commonly found in areas with moderate to low turbidity.
