Loxopagurus loxochelis (Moreira, 1901)
The holotype describing this hermit crab comes from Brazil. Loxopagurus is a monotypic genus and only occurs in southeastern South America. Among other things, it uses the shell of Olivancillaria sp. , a snail from the family Olividae, known as olive snails.
Forest (1964) described the genus Loxopagurus on the basis of Pagurus loxochelis (Moreira, 1901) and highlighted the many similarities between his new genus and Isocheles, mainly in the aspect of the anterior body region, particularly the shapes of the shield.
