Info

Claremontiella nodulosa (C. B. Adams, 1845)

Claremontiella nodulosa is a shell snail from the family Muricidae, which is known as a spiny snail due to its special shell shape
be designated. However, the shells have more or less pronounced spines. Spiny snails have a horny operculum to close the shell opening. The family includes small to large snails with a worldwide distribution, especially in the tropics. Spiny snails feed on other invertebrates. Many spiny snails paralyze their prey with a poison.

Claremontiella nodulosa is often found in rocky areas near the coast. It has a purple opening.
