Info

The Chinese devilfish (Inimicus sinensis) sometimes also comes into the specialized trade, so at Aqzeno, Pinneberg, last for 60€.
However, it should be absolutely clear that this is not a fish for beginners, because poisonous!!!

Inimicus sinensis is a gray, brown, red and black spotted scorpionfish with a dark brown to blackish inner surface of the pectoral fin and many large yellowish spots.

This nocturnal predator usually lies motionless on the seafloor, often partially burrowed. It is not a swimmer, but "crawls" across the seafloor with its pectoral fin rays.

The Chinese devilfish is distinguished from the other two species found in Australia by a dark inner surface with white to light yellow spots and blotches, in contrast to a dark base and dark margin on the inner surface of the pectoral fin in the rockfish Inimicus didactylus, and two dark bands and a light margin on the inner surface in the Caledonian devilfish (Inimicus caledonicus).

Scorpionfish possess highly venomous spines that can cause very painful deep wounds.
When threatened and during courtship, Inimicus species spread their pectoral and caudal fins, flashing their bright colors.
