Info
About the soft coral Litophyton savignyi are, despite a quite large distribution, unfortunately only few information available.
One examined specimen had the following dimensions; 8.6 cm wide and 4.2 cm high, whether this information can be applied to other colonies of the species, must unfortunately remain open at present.
Colonies of Litophyton savignyi form a "umbellifer-typical form", which may remind the botanically interested among other things of the growth form of the wild carrot, Daucus carotta.
The soft coral is white in color on the stem, stalk and branches, although species diversity and further study of the population and taxonomy may well yield divergent color morphs.
We would be very pleased to receive husbandry experiences from users of reeflex.net.
