Info

Henricia sanguinolenta is a widespread starfish that lives in a variety of moderately exposed and exposed habitats on rocks and among hydroids, sponges, sea squirts, and other benthic marine life.
The diet of the starfish is much broader than previously thought, known to include invasive sea squirts as well as the sponges Isodictya palmata (Lamarck) and Isodictya deichmannae (de Laubenfels).

Structure: Henricia sanguinolenta is a stiff, rigid starfish with a sandpaper-like texture on the dorsal surface.
The starfish occurs in red, yellow, orange, purple and lavender.
