Captive breeding / propagation

The offspring of Taeniura lessoni are possible. Unfortunately, the number of offspring is not large enough to cover the demand of the trade. If you are interested in Taeniura lessoni, please ask your dealer for offspring. If you already own Taeniura lessoni, try breeding yourself. This will help to improve the availability of offspring in the trade and to conserve natural stocks.

Uwaga!

Trujący lub jadowity! Bardzo niebiezpieczny! Zachowaj ostrożność w obchodzeniu się z nim!

Info

In contrast to Taeniura lymma, Taeniura lessoni does not have blue lines extending the entire length of the tail,

This blue spotted ray is a shallow water coral reef associated ray that also encounters the blue spotted ray Taeniura lymma in its habitat.

Because of the immediately eye-catching balled dots on the top of the body, mistaken identifications are easy.

Nothing is known about the biology and ecology of Taeniura lessoni.
