Info

Sometimes errors creep in also with scientific first determinations, so also in the case of Cinetorhynchus fasciatus.
Here the carapace lengths of the holotype were given with 6.5mm and of the paratype with 9.3mm, in fact the size is given in centimeters, as the author John P. Hoover confirmed us on 11.8.2021 by e-mail!
A comparable note can be found on the website of Keoki Stender, who gave the length as 3.5 inches.
https://www.marinelifephotography.com/marine/arthropods/shrimps/cinetorhynchus-fasciatus.htm

Cinetorhynchus fasciatus is often found in shallow reefs with rock crevices at night.
The color of the shrimp is orange with transparent bands on the abdomen that extend diagonally on the carapace.
The caudal fins are banded unlike Cinetorhynchus hiatti.

Naming: The species name "fαsciαtus" refers to the banded coloration of the new species again.
