Eratoena sulcifera (J. E. Gray in G. B. Sowerby I, 1832)
Eratoena sulcifera is a species of small sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Eratoidae.
Species of Eratoidae have at times been placed within the Triviidae, but as of this writing, they are again two separate families. Most of the eratoids and triviids are small white shells shaped roughly like cowries but covered with ridges. With similar shapes but little or no color and current species differentiation based primarily on shell characteristics, species are notoriously difficult to tell apart
It is often overlooked due to its small size.
Synonymised names:
Erato sulcifera J. E. Gray in G. B. Sowerby I, 1832 (original combination)
Proterato capensis Schilder, 1933
Proterato sulcifera (Gray in G. B. Sowerby I, 1832)
