Buccinulum vittatum (Quoy & Gaimard, 1833)

Buccinulum vittatum is the most variable and widespread of all Buccinulum species, occurring throughout New Zealand and reaching as far as the sub-Antarctic islands.
The species name "vittatum" means "adorned with a bandage", referring to the more or less pronounced patterning of the shell of the predatory snail.
