Info
This dwarf perch, endemic to New Caledonia, is found in coral debris, spotted reefs, around rock and coral heads, in tidal pools and shallow lagoon areas.
This species was named after Dr. B. Salvat, a fish scientist and zoologist (1887-1915).
We have never seen this species in the trade, as the photo of José Luis Bello Arranz shows, the dwarf perch can still be seen in one or the other aquarium.
In case such a dwarf perch should find its way into the trade after all, it must be offered a richly structured aquarium with numerous hiding places
Synonyms:
Cypho salvati (Plessis & Fourmanoir, 1966)
Pseudochromis salvati Plessis & Fourmanoir, 1966
