Info

Unfortunately, the initial description of Myersina yangii is not available as a file; the respective findings from India and Malaysia only contain taxonomic information (e.g., size data) and very little information about the animal itself.

Myersina yangii inhabits estuaries, coastal areas, and lagoons on sandy to muddy soils and lives in symbiosis with a pistol shrimp.

Since gobies tend to jump at night, a jump guard should always be installed.

Jumping guard
A jumping guard prevents (nocturnal) fish from jumping out.
Wrasses, blennies, hawkfishs and gobies jump out of an unprotected tank in fright if their night rest is disturbed, unfortunately these jumpers are found dried up in the morning on carpets, glass edges or later behind the tank.

A small night light also helps, as it provides the fish with a means of orientation in the dark!

Synonym:
The species name “yangii” honors Hong-Jia Yang, an ichthyologist and extremely talented illustrator who worked at the Taiwanese Fisheries Research Institute in Kaohsiung.
