Protanguilla palau is a living fossil and an endemit from Ngemelis Island, Palau (Oceania, Pacific Ocean).
Protanguilla palau is a species of eel, and the only species in the genus Protanguilla, a few Individuals were found in March 2010 swimming in a deep underwater cave in a fringing reef off the coast of Palau.
