Stenorhynchus lanceolatus (Brullé, 1837 [in Brullé, 1837-1839])

Information on the related species: eats dry food, food tablets and all types of frozen food. Information about the tank: no special features, sometimes pecks at lower animals, but can then be easily caught.

Information on social behavior: Can be kept singly or as a pair. Information on susceptibility to disease: robust crab, can sometimes have difficulty moulting.

Note: The Atlantic spider crab Stenorhynchus lanceolatus often lives on the coasts of the Canary Islands and Madeira in the company of long-spined sea urchins.

Die Krabbe frisst nicht nur Algen, sie nimmt auch Futtertabletten direkt aus der Futterzange,
Heute konnte ich beobachten als sie längere Zeit mit den Scheren in den Löchern eines RRR rumstocherte und kurz danach einen sich windenden Borstenwurm festhielt und diesen genüsslich verspeiste.
Hochinteressantes Tier das sich leicht halten lässt.

Eine sehr interessante und harmlose Krabbe, die ein sehr guter Algenfresser ist.

Wie bereits beschrieben hält sich das Tier gerne in der Nähe einer Anemone auf.

Was ich besonders interessant finde, die Krabbe tastet sich meist mit ihren beiden langen Vorderbeinen ran und fängt damit Schwebeteilchen, die dann von den Scheren abgesammelt und verspeist werden.

Sehr einfach zu halten!
