Hypselodoris melanesica Gosliner & R. F. Johnson, 2018

Hypselodoris melanesica was described from Madang, Papua New Guinea. It is known only from Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands.


This nudibranch has a translucent pale purple body with a thin white band at the edge of the mantle. The gills are light orange, becoming darker orange at the base. The gill pocket is deep violet. The rhinophores have bright orange clubs and a deep purple sheath at the base.
