Info
Mauritia eglantina, Duclos, 1833
The snail is nocturnal. It does not restrict itself to individual areas in the aquarium, but really makes use of the whole aquarium. As soon as the light comes on, it moves into any hiding place, even if it is only an overhang.
Cowries are very active and during their nocturnal forays through the tank they can tear corals and algae away from their home. If there is insufficient algae growth, the snails may also eat corals.
